Referrals
Referring Someone
to GVPVS
Police and community partners play an important role in connecting people with Victim Services.
GVPVS is working to make the referral process more consistent, reliable and accessible across the region.
★ A priority in the 2025–2030 Strategic PlanImproving police referrals is a specific priority in the 2025–2030 Strategic Plan. Our new online referral process provides police and approved community partners with a straightforward way to submit referral information securely.
Before Making a Referral
Referral information should include the details GVPVS needs to understand who is being referred, how they can be contacted, and the nature of the support that may be required.
Where possible, individuals should understand that a referral is being made to Victim Services and how GVPVS may contact them.

Connecting People With the Right Support
No single organization can meet every need following crime or trauma. Strong community relationships help GVPVS connect people with services that may be appropriate to their circumstances.

One of the priorities identified in the 2025–2030 Strategic Plan is to continue providing training and education to police partners. GVPVS also aims to strengthen mutual understanding, trust and reliance between the organization and its stakeholders.
