Steampunk vs Goth- What Are The Differences?

We added Steampunk fashion wear to compliment our products (such as the day collars) that tend towards “Gothic”. Gothic and Steampunk are both Victorian (assuming you’re talking about Victorian Gothic) but the difference is that Gothic tends to be darker and more romanticized, whereas Steampunk is often lighter, more playful, and adventurous.  Gothic has a focus on religion and the supernatural, while Steampunk focuses more on science and technology. Important Note: The Steampunk line of wear that you see here is “probationary” only. We’ll feature it on our site for a year or so, and see where it goes. Judging from hat we see in our LOCAL population, both Steampunk AND Gothic find favor with all ages, and possible different reasons.
